You listed your ticket for resale or started sending it to someone, but changed your mind?
You can cancel a resale or transfer in the Shotgun app as long as the ticket hasn't already been sold, accepted, or paid for.
This article explains how to cancel each one and what you can do if it's already too late.
If you want to cancel your entire order and request a refund, that's different from cancelling a resale or transfer. See I want to cancel my order
👉 How do I cancel a resale?
As long as nobody has bought your ticket, you can remove it from resale at any time in the Shotgun app.
- Open the Shotgun app and go to My tickets.
- Tap the ticket you listed to open its QR code.
- Tap Pending resale, then Cancel resale.
Your ticket goes back to normal and stays valid for the event.
Cancelling a resale is free. The resale fee only applies when the ticket is actually sold.
Going to the event after all? Cancel the resale before you get to the door. A ticket that's listed for resale is still valid, but it can be sold at any time while it's available.
👉 How do I cancel a transfer?
You can cancel a transfer as long as the other person hasn't accepted the ticket. If you chose Resell to a friend, you can cancel it as long as they haven't completed the payment.
- Open the Shotgun app and go to My tickets.
- Tap the ticket you're sending to open its QR code.
- Tap Pending transfer, then Cancel transfer.
The ticket returns to your account and the link you shared stops working.
You can then use the ticket yourself or start a new transfer or private resale, if those options are available.
👉 What happens if my ticket has already been sold or accepted?
Once someone has bought your ticket through resale, the resale is final and the ticket can't be returned to you.
If you still want to attend the event, you'll need to get another ticket. If the event is sold out, you can check whether there's a waiting list.
For a transfer, once the other person has accepted the ticket, it's in their Shotgun account and you can no longer cancel the transfer yourself.
If they agree to give it back, they may be able to transfer it back to you, as long as the ticket is eligible for transfer.
👉 I cancelled it, but my ticket still shows as pending
If you've tapped Cancel resale or Cancel transfer, but the status hasn't changed or you're seeing an error message, contact the Shotgun Care team so we can check what's happening with the ticket.
