Want to see how many steps you danced during an event and share them with your friends?
Here’s how to activate the pedometer in the Shotgun app.
The pedometer is currently available only on the Shotgun iOS app.
👉 How do I activate the pedometer?
It's easy:
- Open the Shotgun app.
- Go to your profile by tapping your profile picture in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down to Stats.
- Tap the Dance steps icon and follow the instructions on your device to activate the pedometer.
When you give Shotgun permission to access your step count, we only read your number of steps.
Shotgun will never read any other health data or write data to your Health app.
👉 How are my steps counted?
We count your steps between the time your ticket is scanned and the scheduled end time of the event.
The step count is calculated only after the event has ended. This means it may be different from the number of steps you actually took while you were at the event, since we don't know when you left.
For example, if you leave an event early, your steps will still be counted until the scheduled end time.
If your ticket wasn't scanned using the Shotgun scanning app, we won't have the information needed to determine when your step count should start.
Just for fun!
The pedometer is a fun feature that gives you an idea of how much you danced during the event.
Keep in mind that the number of steps is just an estimate and shouldn't be used as an exact measurement of your physical activity, health or fitness.
👉 When will I see my step count?
Once the event has ended, you'll be able to see your total number of steps under the QR code of your ticket.
If you grant permission to access your steps later, Shotgun can retrieve the relevant step count retroactively for your past events.
You can then share your result with your friends on Instagram or using your device's native sharing options. ✨
