You bought a ticket but can't make it to the event?
If your ticket is eligible, you can put it back on sale through Shotgun and receive the amount from the resale once someone buys it.
This article explains how resale works, what it costs, when you receive the payment, and what happens if you change your mind.
Resale is only available in the Shotgun app, not on the website.

👉 How do I resell my ticket?
- Open the Shotgun app and go to "My tickets".
- Tap the ticket you want to resell to open its QR code.
- Tap "Resell", then confirm with "Resell my ticket".
Your ticket stays in your account with a "Pending resale" status until a buyer takes it.
It's still valid in the meantime, so if you decide to attend the event instead, make sure to cancel the resale before using your ticket.
See ❌ I want to cancel a resale or a transfer for the steps.
- If you don't see the Resell option, resale isn't available for that ticket or event. See ⛔ Resale and transfer are not available to understand why and what you can still do.
- If you can't find your ticket in My tickets, see 🎟️ I can’t find my ticket
👉 What happens after I list my ticket for resale?
Once your ticket is listed in the Shotgun app, it becomes available for another buyer.
If the event isn't sold out, your ticket will be sold alongside the other tickets available for that event with priority.
If the event or your ticket category is sold out, your ticket will be offered to people on the waiting list.
Your ticket is only cancelled and refunded once someone actually buys it. Listing your ticket does not guarantee that it will be resold.
If your ticket has been listed for a while and hasn't sold, see ⏳ My ticket isn’t reselling
👉 How much does resale cost?
Putting your ticket for public resale within Shotgun costs 15% of the order price, deducted from the amount you receive.
The fee is capped, so it never goes above a set maximum, and is non-refundable.
You'll see the exact amount you'll receive before confirming the resale, so you know how much you'll get back if your ticket is sold.
See 💲Shotgun fees for more information about fees.
👉 When do I get my money back?
You're refunded when your ticket is resold, not when you list it.
You'll receive a notification and a receipt by email when someone buys your ticket. The refund is sent back to the original payment method and usually appears within 5 to 10 days, depending on your payment method and bank.
If you still haven't received it after that period, see 😰 I haven’t received my refund
Keep in mind that resale isn't guaranteed. It depends on whether there's a buyer for your ticket.
👉 Until when can I resell my ticket?
You can resell your ticket in the Shotgun app until 1 hour before the end of the ticket's validity period.
For example, if your ticket is valid for entry before midnight, you can resell it until 11 PM.
👉 Can I resell my ticket to someone I know?
Yes, but this works differently from public resale.
If you want to give or sell your ticket to a specific person, use Transfer instead of Resell. You can send the ticket directly to that person through Shotgun.
It also costs less, only the original ticket fees apply, not the 15% resale fee.
See 🎁 I want to transfer or resell my ticket to someone I know for the steps.
👉 Can I cancel my resale?
Yes, as long as nobody has bought your ticket yet.
If your ticket is still showing as Pending resale, you can cancel the resale from the Shotgun app and keep your ticket.
Once someone has bought your ticket, the resale is final and can't be reversed.
See ❌ I want to cancel a resale or a transfer for the steps.
Do not list the same ticket for resale on another platform at the same time.
If it sells in more than one place, the other sale may not be reversible.
