🕛 I'm on the waiting list and haven't received a ticket yet

You joined the waiting list because the ticket you want is sold out, but you haven't received a ticket yet? 

Here's how the waiting list works and what you can expect while you're waiting.

👉 Where am I on the waiting list?

There's no position or ranking displayed in the app, and we can't tell you which number you are in the list.

That's because the waiting list is very dynamic: people are constantly joining and leaving, while other customers are putting tickets back on sale. As tickets become available and are assigned, the number of people waiting can also change.

Because of this constant change in ticket supply and demand, there isn't a fixed position that we can reliably show you.

What you can check is whether you're still registered:

1. Open the Shotgun app.
2. Go to My tickets.
3. Open the Pending tab.
4. Your waiting-list registration will remain there while you're still registered.

👉 Why haven't I received a ticket yet?

The event or ticket category you want is sold out, so there isn't currently a ticket available for you to buy.

The waiting list depends on other customers putting their tickets back on sale through resale. If no ticket becomes available, you won't receive one.

Even when tickets are being resold, there is no estimated waiting time, typical delay, or guarantee that you'll receive a ticket. Your chances depend on how many tickets are resold and how many people are already waiting for them.

👉 I got a notification that new tickets are on sale. Is that my ticket?

No. In some cases, the event organizer can release additional tickets for sale even after a ticket category or the event as a whole has sold out. These additional tickets don't go through the waiting list.

The waiting list is used only for tickets that become available because another customer has put their ticket up for resale.

That's why you may receive a notification that new tickets are on sale while you're still on the waiting list. It gives you another opportunity to secure a ticket directly, without having to wait for a ticket to become available through the waiting list.

If you receive this notification and the ticket you want is available, you can purchase it directly through the event page. Your waiting-list registration will remain active unless you leave it yourself.

👉 What happens when a ticket becomes available?

When the automatic purchase takes place:

• Your saved card is charged automatically.
• Your ticket is generated and added to your Shotgun account.
• You'll receive your order confirmation by email.

If the payment doesn't go through, you return to the end of the waiting list and can wait for another ticket to become available.

👉 What should I do while I'm waiting?

Two things are important:

• Keep a valid payment method on your account. Your saved card needs to be able to complete the automatic purchase if a ticket becomes available.
• Keep Shotgun push notifications enabled. If a ticket becomes available after you've joined the waiting list, you may receive a "You're next in line 🎟️" notification shortly before the automatic purchase takes place. If you receive this notification and no longer want the ticket, you can leave the waiting list before the purchase.

👉 How long will I stay on the waiting list?

A ticket can become available a few days after you join or even on the day of the event, so there isn't a fixed waiting time.

You stay on the waiting list until you leave it yourself or the waiting-list period ends which is 1 hour before the point when that ticket would stop being valid.

While you're still registered on the waiting list, you'll also receive event reminders, including a notification 24 hours before the event and another shortly after it starts.

If you no longer want a ticket, leave the waiting list as soon as possible. Buying a ticket somewhere else, buying one at the door, or deciding not to attend doesn't remove you automatically.

Leaving the waiting list is the only way to stop being considered for a ticket and prevent a future automatic charge.
