You've found a ticket you'd like to buy, but you can't select it or you're not sure how to access it?
Here's how to check the requirements and access the rate you're looking for.
This article is about accessing restricted ticket rates.
→ If your payment is being refused or you see a payment error, see 🚫 My payment won’t go through
→ If you were charged but can't find your ticket, see 🎟️ I can’t find my ticket
Some ticket rates are restricted to specific groups or require certain conditions to be met. For example, you may see member, student, community, guest list, invite-only, partner, or other reduced rates.
The requirements are usually listed in the ticket description on the event page.
👉 What do I need to do to access the ticket?
First, check the ticket description on the event page. It should explain who can access the rate and what you need to do.
The most common requirements are:
- Follow the organizer on Shotgun: Open the organizer's page directly from the event page by clicking on their name and tap Subscribe. Then go back to the event page and refresh it. Make sure you're following the organizer's page on Shotgun, not just their social media pages.
- Subscribe to the organizer's newsletter and enable push notifications: Some rates may require you to subscribe to the organizer's newsletter and/or enable push notifications. For more information, see I want to subscribe to an organizer page and I want to subscribe to an organizer newsletter.
Some tickets may also be restricted to a community, member list, guest list, or other group, or depend on conditions such as previous purchases or attendance. These requirements are defined and managed by the organizer.
If the ticket description doesn't explain how to access the rate, contact the organizer directly to ask about the requirements. You can usually find their contact information on the event page.
See 📨 How can I contact the event organizer? for more information.
👉 I followed the instructions, but I still can't access the ticket
If you've followed the instructions in the ticket description but the rate is still unavailable, first check that you've completed all the requirements and that you're using the correct Shotgun account.
If you've met all the requirements and the ticket is still locked or you can't complete the purchase, contact Shotgun Care so we can check what's happening.
What we need from you:
- Your Shotgun account email
- The event name
- A screenshot of the ticket and any message you see
- Your device and platform (app or website)
Please note: If the ticket is restricted to a guest list, member list, community, or another group managed by the organizer, Shotgun can't modify those lists or change the eligibility criteria.
👉 I can't buy as many tickets as I want
Organizers can set a maximum number of tickets per order for a specific rate.
If you've reached the limit, you won't be able to add more tickets to that order. Check whether another rate is available if you need additional tickets.
👉 The ticket I want is no longer available
Restricted rates can be limited by quantity or time.
The ticket may no longer be available because:
- The allocated tickets have sold out
- The sale period has ended
- The rate is no longer publicly available
- The organizer has reserved the remaining tickets for a specific group of buyers
If the rate is no longer available, meeting its eligibility requirements won't make it available again. Check the event page for other tickets that are still on sale.
