The name displayed on your ticket isn't yours, or doesn't match the person who will use it?
In most cases, this isn't a problem: for most events, the name on the ticket isn't checked at the entrance.
Here's what you should know.
👉 Does the name on my ticket need to match my name?
The event organizer is responsible for the event logistics and decides whether tickets need to be nominative. They are also responsible for communicating these requirements.
To find out whether the name on your ticket matters:
- Read the full event description on the event page. When names are required, the organizer should state it there.
- Check the information displayed under the ticket category. Conditions are sometimes listed there rather than in the main event description.
- Re-read your confirmation email and any other messages you received from the organizer.
If your ticket has a discount linked to a specific condition, such as being under 18, a student, or a resident of a specific city, expect this to be checked at the entrance.
The person using the ticket must meet the eligibility requirements, and the name and proof of eligibility may need to match.
Make sure the correct person and information are associated with these tickets before attending the event.
👉 How can I change the name on my ticket?
If the ticket is intended for someone else, you can usually transfer the ticket to the person who will use it.

Transfer may not be available for every ticket.
If you don't see the transfer option, the ticket may have a restriction set by the organizer or may not be eligible for transfer.
If you need to change the name on a ticket that can't be transferred, contact the Shotgun Care team and we'll check what options are available for your ticket.
What we need from you:
- The order number
- The name currently displayed on the ticket
- The name to display instead
👉 Why doesn't the name on my ticket match my account?
If you bought a ticket for a friend or relative in the past, the name displayed on your ticket may reflect the information that was associated with your account or order at the time of purchase.
For example, you may have previously used your account to buy a ticket for someone else and forgotten to update your information before placing a new order.
In some cases, however, the name displayed may not match your account information because something went wrong during the purchase.
Since the name displayed on an existing ticket can't be changed directly from the Shotgun app or website, contact the Shotgun Care team so we can check what happened.
What we need from you:
- The email address linked to your Shotgun account;
- The name currently set on your account;
- The name displayed on the ticket;
- Your order number and the event name.
